“My Dalmatian” Many suns and moons ago, under gazebo late at night, The theme was Disney, I was Deville, a Dalmatian I did sight, A familiar face, a happy embrace, then back to character and spright, She stole my wig, stole Jasper’s horse, we laughed until the room came bright, A hockey tour, Caroline on the pour, “wait.., why is my cider white?”, A bottle of Corkie’s she had emptied, much to my liver’s plight! “I’ll get her back” I swore, )through mischief ne’er with smite), Her devilish humour made it futile, at my efforts she laughed with delight, She even made me promise to paint a car once more, with a browner shade of white! A heart that knew no boundaries, Caroline loved with all her might, Jasper, Sophia, friends and family, were the fuel for her fight, Proving everybody wrong for so long, and of course enjoying being right, She overcame walls of every thickness, and of every height, Inspiring each and every one us, to not feel aggrieved at every slight, Leaving a legacy as a mother, the most beautiful princess to Jasper’s knight, You were also a daughter, and a friend to so many, losing you is such a painful bite, Caroline you brought such joy to the world, and we will pass along your light, And I know we will meet again one day, my Dalmatian, so just for now, good night xx
